Client's Story
Dave is a two-time cancer survivor and bone marrow transplant recipient. As a result of his transplant, he lives with ongoing medical complications that significantly impact his daily life. He has been deemed permanently disabled and continues to manage a range of long-term side effects that affect his overall well-being. In 2011, on the day his daughter was born, Dave began chemotherapy to treat lymphoma, despite warnings from doctors that his tall, six-foot-nine frame might increase his risk of developing leukemia. Though he had dental insurance, it fell far short of covering the extensive dental work he needed.

Dave Journey
Dave Stock beat cancer twice but faces a $10,000 dental bill. After contracting leukemia and undergoing a bone marrow transplant, Dave's body reacted severely—his skin was the first to suffer, and he soon showed signs of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), a condition where the new marrow fights the old, creating internal conflict. Chemotherapy had already weakened his teeth, and when his saliva glands failed, dry mouth accelerated decay, leading to teeth breaking while he ate. "It started with one tooth breaking, then another, until they all cracked," Dave recalls, highlighting the toll of his battle with the disease. Never Alone Cancer Foundation supported Dave by purchasing his first mobility scooter, enabling him to share a memorable bike ride with his daughter. As his dental condition worsened and became increasingly painful due to ongoing medical treatments, the foundation also facilitated the dental care he urgently needed, bringing him much-needed relief.

Whether it is talking, comforting them with words or Winnipeg soup fairies, all day they are just like my sunshine!
When you are down just they are there, it picks you up big time. There's many other organizations out there but I really feel that Never Alone is next level. They are absolutely wonderful!

Humility was my greatest lesson. I had everything and with a blink of an eye, everything disappeared. When you lose everything, you learn a lot about who people are. It could happen to anyone. If it wasn’t for Never Alone Cancer Foundation, I believe I would be dead right now.

I hate to have to tell you that our daughter Meaghan passed away peacefully on Saturday (April 13) surrounded by her family. They seem very compassionate and professional. We are so grateful with your assistance for accommodations. It means more than you know. Thank you so much.
